What is different about herbal medicine? Plants as medicines are more in tune with the working systems of the body, herbs produce constituents within their cells to help them live well, just as we do. Herbal medicines use whole plant material rather than isolated extracts,so our bodies can benefit from the combinations of constituents as they are found in the plant. Plant medicines work with your body as part of your path to better health.

For deep seated health problems a rough rule of thumb can be that for each year of symptoms, herbs will be needed for at least 1 month. Can I take herbs if I am already on medications from my GP? Yes, in most cases this is so. I will need to know details of any medications or supplements that you are taking and will take this into account when prescribing your herbal medicine.
